Rules for Using Warp It at Merseyside Police

How to contribute or claim resources

The Warpit system has been developed to make the transfer of resources between owners simple and easy. The system has been developed after 10 years in the furniture and equipment reuse sector. There are a lot of problems inherent in transferring equipment which can be avoided with some straightforward guidance.

To make sure the transfers of ownership are efficient legal and safe, the following guidelines should be followed- as well as the Transfer of Ownership form and the Terms and Conditions.

Adding Surplus Items

The Warpit upload form has been designed to make the process of adding items as easy as possible. Where you see a [?] hover over it for guidance.

  • Items should be left on Warpit for a standard 1 month time period unless otherwise agreed with the Estates Department.

  • No items are currently to go outside of Force buildings.  This is something which is currently being looked into with Legal Services, with final documentation yet to be agreed.

There is also a Merseyside Police Warpit Guide which can be accessed by clicking on the link here MP Warpit Guide.   This provides specific information on the process for adding and collecting items.

Claiming Surplus Items

Any member of Merseyside Police staff can claim an item on Warpit.  If you find something which would benefit yourself or your department please either contact your local team administrator or the Estate and Facilities Management Helpdesk to arrange for the item to be transported to your site.  This must be carried out by Force drivers and should be logged via the Maintenance Manager system or by contacting the Estate and Facilities Management Helpdesk.

If you work in Procurement or Corporate Support and Development you may receive requests from staff for specific items of furniture and / or stationary.  Before ordering new items it is important to check Warpit to see whether any items requested are currently listed as surplus stock and could therefore be reused.

It is important that all staff check that the requested items are suitable for their requirements prior to them being transported to avoid additional costs and waste time.  There will be scope for staff to visit sites to view items if they wish.  Access to sites can be made via the site porters or Facilities Officers, if these are unknown to you please contact the Estates and Facilities Management Helpdesk, Tel 0151 777 8890, Email facilities.Management.Helpdesk@email.merseyside.police.uk
